Choosing the Right Appliance

So you have made the decision to remodel your kitchen, but what about the appliances? With so many choices on the market, it is hard to know what the right options for you are. There are the basic choices like white or stainless steel but here are some other things to keep in mind while you are selecting!

Cooktop/Oven – Choosing a proper stove is really going to depend on your use for it. While basic stoves are cost-efficient, they may not offer the cooking versatility that you require. Gas cooktops are popular amongst those who want an instant response and are not interested in waiting for their stove to warm up. For those looking for something that is easy to clean, you might prefer to go with a ceramic top. Furthermore, you may want to consider whether you want to spend the money of a self-cleaning oven.

Refrigerator/Freezer – Consider space when making this decision. Stand up freezers are not as long, but tend to stick out from the wall more, while the original deep freezer tends to hold more items, and can range in cubic feet. We recommend 12 cubic feet of space per adult person living in the home. There are also fun things to consider if you are looking for luxury, like water/ice dispensers and even televisions!

Dishwasher – The dishwasher is again going to be a personal decision. There are lower end models that offer the basics, but there should also be thought put into the types of controls you would like it to have. Some offer noise reduction, efficiency options, and load size settings to maximize water efficiency.

No matter what your style is, choosing appliances is an important step of the renovation process, and careful thought should be placed into what will be best suited to your needs.
